Race summary John took part in the Way to Battle Run from the ancient Archway of Pevensey Castle to Battle Abbey as part of the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings celebrations. The race was multi terrain and followed as close as possible to the route that William the Conqueror and his men took all those years ago. There was heavy rain just prior to the start of the race which made the fields and hills very slippery underfoot. The course was estimated by the organisers as being approx. 17 miles. Despite the course being very testing with a number of steep hills to climb and multiple styles to get over the event was well organised and very enjoyable for John. The event was restricted to 1066 entrants with 801 finishers on the day. Well done John.
