Harriers are encouraged to take part in the traditional Boxing Day Race at Saltwood  village near Hythe. The run is a tough hilly 4.85 k cross country circuit starting and finishing in the village and attracts runners of all standards. Last year there were over 800 participants. Entries cost  £5.00 and all proceeds go to charity.  The run starts at 1200 .  The organisers are keen  for people to enter in advance and this can be done online . Entries can  also be made on the day between 1100 and 1145  however an early arrival is recommended to find parking and also to avoid queuing to enter. More information can be found on the event website at www.boxingdayrun.org.uk. To get to the village follow the B2068  from Canterbury ( Stone Street  ) until you come to the large roundabout over the M20. Immediately after crossing over the motorway take the first turning on the left beside the Highways Dept site signposted to Saltwood.
