Race summary

Despite the course being altered to make it (seemingly) even harder, this was a very successful race for Canterbury Harriers. Brian McNabb was 3rd overall and, along with Fraser Wildman, and Gerry Reilly formed the runners-up in the men's team event. Gerry was also 3rd in the V50 competition.

The women were even more successful, with Rachel Robinson, who runs first claim for Richmond and Zetland in Yorkshire, coming 2nd and leading Canterbury to victory in the team competition, assisted by Sarah Maguire and Julie Ballands. Julie was also runner-up in the V40 competition. This was not all, for Canterbury also managed to come 3rd female team as well, with Penny Gardham, Steph Lam and Emma Hall (who made her club debut) forming that trio.
