Join us for the return of marathon racing in Kent! This year’s Kent Spring Marathon and Half Marathon will go ahead on Sunday 10th April 2022. This popular Kent Spring race sees a two-lap marathon and a single lap half marathon, covering the undulating, quiet, wide lanes outside Ashford in Kent plus a short section on the Pilgrims Way. Both races carry UKA licences and are accurately measured, which means that a good time for marathon runners could see you secure a ‘Good for Age’ time for a certain somewhat larger big city marathon! Both races are suitable for runners of all abilities, from experienced athletes to those new to half or full marathon races. More to the point, this is known for being a friendly event, with cracking support from our enthusiastic partners at Ashford Striders who will be there to guide you safely around the route. The race always attracts great reviews and, for those of you who are experienced marathon runners, the event makes a refreshing change from some of the busy, big city affairs. The scenic, rural route weaves its way out into the countryside north of Ashford and heads out through the nearby countryside in and around and the pretty Kent villages of Charing and Westwell. Aid stations will be plentiful and well-stocked! So, why not celebrate the return of live racing, shake off those lockdown blues and join us for a new marathon challenge? All finishers will receive a bespoke medal and there are prizes for first man and lady in both races plus trophies for the leading runners and age category winners. Exclusive souvenir technical t-shirts are available to purchase for just £12.00. The Kent Spring Marathon is generously sponsored by PodPlus, a local sports shop and injury clinic based at the Julie Rose Stadium, Ashford. You can find details on their services on their website here. Photos from the race will be provided by MySportPhotos here.
