RETRO UNIQUE’s Home Town Half is our exciting new scenic trail 'Legacy' half marathon event taking place on Sunday 23rd April 2023. It's called the 'Hometown Half quite simply because it finishes in BRIGHTLINGSEA, Essex, our home town and where RETRO UNIQUE was born and runs through the town where its sister companies, WH SHORT and TRANSDEC were born. The 'Legacy' is the lasting impact it has on the individual runner, the community and the environment. RETRO UNIQUE LEGACY EVENTS The Brightlingsea ‘Home Town Half’ half marathon is part of our ‘Legacy’ events through the following: Raising awareness and funds for the WORKHORSE GENERATION Charity Hub who support the following local charities: ROBIN CANCER TRUST MIND MID AND NORTH ESSEX GREENPATH VENTURES FUTURESTARS 4YP Promoting the local area and environment through education of history and nature along the running route – we are corporate supporters of Essex Wildlife Trust Planting trees – we will be planting 10 trees per participant through our environmental partners, Ecologi Community involvement – we will be liaising with community groups from all the villages on the route to encourage greater community involvement
