Overview
2027 marks the 10th anniversary of this remarkable race, which explores and celebrates the green spaces of London and helps raise valuable funds for The Maypole Project. The parks and commons of Chislehurst have a rich history, and the village is located in one of the leafiest wards of Greater London. Our aim is to combine the two to showcase that history and proffer fresh breath from the green lungs of Chislehurst to enrich runners' visit to the Chislehurst Half Marathon. All race profits go to the Maypole Project.
Running for a Cause
The Maypole Project provides unique psychological support to families affected by the life-shattering & stressful situation of a young family member being diagnosed or living with a complex illness or disability. They are a local charity, supporting over 1,000 families across Kent & South of London. The Maypole Project provides family centred emotional support, where a child/young person has been diagnosed with a complex medical need between 0 and 18yrs. Families can receive support from the moment of their child or young person's diagnosis (or unnamed condition), including antenatal period. They support the whole family including siblings, the ill/disabled child/young person, parents, and grandparents. And, they promise to stay alongside families for as long as is needed, tailoring support to each family's individual needs at home, school, hospice or hospital.
